Hidden away, right out in the open, the Bar Harbor Yacht Club is one of Mount Desert Island's greatest secrets. A small, subtly marked driveway off Route 3 leads to the clubhouse, but there is little else to point the way. Finding the BHYC requires a little local knowledge... just the way our members planned it.

The Bar Harbor Yacht Club is a carefully created oasis right in the middle of one of the most popular tourist destinations on the east coast. Just five minutes from downtown Bar Harbor, a member can be in heavy traffic one minute and looking down the club pier onto Frenchman Bay the next. The transformation is breathtakingly fast and invigorating.
